Hotel Kabuki
Client: Two Roads Hospitality
Location: San Francisco, CA
Scope: Menu Design
Round Two for the Kabuki Cocktail menu opted for a simple tri-fold design that would embrace the art of Japanese floral arrangement, Ikebana. Since this was a summer menu, we wanted a shift in the color palette towards bright and playful. The stylization of the flowers would mimic botany illustrations, laid upon cracked floods of watercolor in the background.

The Menus were printed digitally with a matte gold foil + black ink, and a matte coating to increase durability for menu longevity. We will update with IRL images once the printing is complete and these are showcased in Ritz Carlton lounges throughout the country.

Menu Design + QR Code Cards
The name and concept for this Guest & Residence Pool and Bar is a gesture to the cultural heritage of San Antonio and a reference to the natural underground waterways known as Cenotes. The word “Cenote” from the Yucatec Maya word “ts’onot” which means a place with underground water and represents not only a water supply source but a sacred place. Whether guests visit for a refreshing swim or to enjoy a drink with dazzling downtown San Antonio views, the Cenote Pool bar is a hidden oasis awaiting.

Hotel Kabuki
Client: Two Roads Hospitality
Location: San Francisco, CA
Scope: Cocktail Menu Design
It was such an honor to work with Shel Bourdon and Stephanie Ann Wheeler to design this custom menu for the newly-remodeled bar at Hotel Kabuki. The final concept we landed upon was Japanese Shibori, a manual resist dyeing technique that would be used for spreads of color and textures across the menu.
