deVere’s Irish Pub
THE FOUNDING BAR
Client: Irish Hospitality
Location: Sacramento, CA
Established in 2012, deVere’s Irish Pub always had its door open to all and became the home to many. When the pandemic hit, the restaurant had to shut its doors, which allowed the team time to pivot and refresh the brand for the re-opening when restrictions were lifted in summer of 2021. The team wanted to show their appreciation for the community and city as a whole, with a new look that would show they have grown during their downtime and were ready for a new bright chapter together. We jokingly called the re-brand “turning a bachelor’s pad into a proper Public House,” or as we also like to call it “when the wife moves in.”

THE INTERIOR REFRESH
The exterior needed a facelift, and we chose a two-tone navy and black palette with the addition of metallic gold trim added to help the exterior pop with charm. We also hired local artist John Dozier to apply traditional Pub wording to the main windows to make this a proper Public House. On the interior, the lighting was updated with elevated sconces and picture lights to properly highlight some of the family artwork. The walls were re-surfaced and cleaned up, to create a brighter mood indoors.
Interior Design
The Lobby and front bar was filled with gorgeous plants to help being some natural energy into the space. Wallpaper was added to the Lobby, Back Bar Study and 2 restrooms to help make the space feel a little more like home. Our favorite Poppies wallpaper is seen above with a gallery wall arrangements of family photographs. In addition to lightning the back bar and adding some warmth, the shelves were lit with LED rope light to illuminate the large collection of whiskey bottles.
GRAPHIC DESIGN
The Brand Identity was updated to feel more refined with antique frame elements as nods to the elaborate pendant lights and art frames throughout the space. This graphic refresh added a softness to this previously hyper-masculine space.
